Back to Destin!

We recently returned from our summer vacation in Destin, and all I can say is oh my goodness it sure was beautiful! When we arrived, there was a lot of seaweed in the water and it was horrible. There was so much of it that you kinda didn't want to get into the water. But then, on our third day, the waves were huge which is definitely unusual. We had met a very nice couple, Phil and Judy from Arkansas, who were having so much fun out there in the waves, that we went out to join them. But after a few times of being dragged under water and having my face planted in the sand, I had to call it quits! The next morning, the waves were gone, and so was the seaweed! Yay!

Evan spent a lot of time in the ocean with his boogie board. He also likes to dive for diving sticks in the pool, so we spent a lot of time there too. Lauren was a pool girl at the beginning, and a beach girl toward the end of our stay. Both kids had a blast. Not many shells to find in Destin, as usual. Both kids got about five each, and they all look alike...white, and the size of a nickel.

After the seaweed...

One of the places we always make sure to visit for dinner is AJ's. This is Captain Jack, who made Evan a balloon sword.

I ordered a fruity drink and Lauren wanted to eat the whipped cream off the top. For obvious reasons, we had to get her a cup of whipped cream that was her very own.

Lauren wasn't sure if she liked Captain Jack, even after he made her a balloon butterfly.

This is what happens when a two year old gets into Nana's make up bag and tries to put mascara on like mommy does...

We had so much fun and can't wait to do it again!!
